When a pilot flame sensor becomes weak or fails, a gas appliance may not stay lit or may not operate as intended. This Meter Star 750mV thermocouple thermopile is a replacement component for compatible gas fireplaces, stoves, ovens, heaters, and furnaces that use a self-powered ignition or pilot safety system.

The thermopile is heated by the pilot flame and generates 750 millivolts of thermoelectric power to support gas valve operation. If the pilot light goes out, the sensor stops generating power so the gas valve can close as part of the appliance safety system.

Built with glass fiber insulated wiring and metal aluminum sheathing, the assembly is suited for high-temperature pilot environments. Source specifications list a normal operating temperature range of 700 to 750°C, or 1292 to 1382°F, and an internal resistance range of 1,500 mΩ to 4,500 mΩ.

The 36-inch length is useful for installation layouts that need additional reach. Spiral-type and two-pole plug-in connection options are included in the source specifications for straightforward replacement in compatible gas appliance setups without special tools.
