When a pilot flame is present but the gas appliance will not stay lit, a weak or failed thermocouple may not be sending the required millivolt signal to the gas valve. This Meter Star universal gas thermocouple is designed as a replacement flame sensing part for compatible BBQ grills, outdoor fire pit heaters, patio heaters, gas water heaters, gas fireplace inserts, and catering stoves.

The 60 inch length supports flexible routing in a range of appliance layouts. It features M8x1 threads on both the head tip and end nut for connection to matching gas control valves. Before ordering, compare your original thermocouple length, thread size, and installation position to confirm fit.

This thermocouple is suitable for Natural Gas, LPG, Propane, and Butane systems when the appliance specifications match. It is made with EP-NiGr Nickel-Chromium and EN-CuNi Copper-Nickel alloys and is specified for an operating temperature range of -200°C to 850°C. The no-load thermoelectric potential is ≥30mV, with internal resistance listed as 5-50 Ω ±3MΩ.

For proper operation, position the thermocouple head in the pilot flame so it can generate the signal used by the gas valve. If the appliance does not stay lit after installation, check that the tip is heated by the flame and that the M8x1 connection is correctly tightened.
