Meter Star Propane Tank Top Heater Safety Kit, 20-Inch Faston Thermocouple and FD4 Tilt Switch for Heater Repair

When a propane tank top heater will not stay lit or needs safety circuit service, the thermocouple or tilt dump switch may need replacement. This Meter Star kit is designed for compatible tank top propane heaters that use a white Faston female plug valve connection.

The kit includes a 20-inch Faston-type thermocouple sensor and an FD4 weak current tilt dump switch with gas resistance of 10 mΩ or less. When heated by the pilot flame, the thermocouple tip generates the millivolt signal needed to keep the gas valve open. If the pilot flame goes out or the heater tilts, the dump switch interrupts the circuit so the valve closes to help reduce unburned gas accumulation.

Gold-plated internal connectors support corrosion resistance and stable electrical conductivity in outdoor heater conditions. The two-part assembly uses white Faston terminals for connection to the heater valve and dump switch, plus a round ring terminal for grounding to the valve screw or another metal part.

For installation, position the thermocouple tip approximately 5 mm from the burner, connect the Faston plugs to the valve and switch, and make sure all terminals are tight. Verify your heater model and connection type before ordering. This replacement kit fits many tank top propane heaters with the standard white Faston connection system. Not suitable for heaters using a different main control valve design. Components are CE and CSA approved.
